Neither character is perfect- in fact, Harry says a few things that would make any parent gape in horror, but I think that was needed, to alleviate some of the "perfectness" Harry has previously been written as. It is also about the great burden it must be to have a name like Albus Severus, and being raised by a man like Harry Potter. While being as spoiler-free as possible, The Cursed Child is mostly a book about Albus and Harry, and their relationship towards one another. I doesn't have the depth that comes from the novels, due to the nature of reading screenplays, but it does provide insight into each of the characters, and their relationships towards one another, without the tinge of bias that normally comes of reading everything from Harry's perspective. I think the best way to describe The Cursed Child was that it is a lovely story.
